Worship Services:
Contemporary
Service, 8:45 am each Sunday Morning:
This service was started in September of 2003 as a means
of reaching persons who desired to worship in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Prospect UMC is blessed with a talented Praise Band who offer
both current popular contemporary praise music and original praise
music to guide the congregation toward a true spirit of Christian
worship. The Bible based sermons seek to be thoughtful and inspiring,
leading the unchurched to Christ, and leading believers to a deeper
commitment in their life of faith.
Traditional
Service, 11:00 am each Sunday Morning:
Just
as some prefer the more relaxed style of our contemporary service,
others of all ages seek a worship environment like the one in
which they were raised, many hoping to offer that same rich heritage
to their own children. Prospect's traditional service is more
liturgical in style, offering both creeds, Psalms and other readings
to enhance our sense of God's presence with us. We sing the hymns
of faith found in our United Methodist Hymnal, and we are led
in singing by our fine choir and our excellent musicians, Shelia
Medlin and Anne Sutton. The Bible based sermons seek to be thoughtful
and inspiring, leading the unchurched to Christ, and leading believers
to a deeper commitment in their life of faith.
Sunday
Schools:
Our church offers Sunday School Classes
for all ages at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday. In addition to the age
level classes for children and youth, there is a Men's Class,
a Women's Class, a Young Adult Class and two other classes for
adults.
